July 08, 2010 | Whispering Pines - posted by Amanda Did you know that Rochester is home to the oldest continuously running miniature golf course in the nation? Originally known as 'Tall (or White - depending on what source you follow) Maples' and commonly called Parkside Golf, Whispering Pines is located next to the Parkside Diner on the corner of Culver Road and Durand Blvd. It opened in 1930 and is one of the few miniature courses I've seen to actually have an elevated tee box for a ground hole.
